My name is Polly Lincoln and my studio is Plum Ceramics. Originally trained as an architect, I moved away from the more rigid discipline of architecture to find a more dynamic and immediate expression of my creativity. I specialise in ceramic homeware with an emphasis on simple forms and tactile, functional glazes.
I worked for many years in the UK, in London as an architect, and in Brighton for ceramicist and mentor Jo Davda of Brickett Davda, I have recently returned to New Zealand and have embarked on my own journey in ceramics.
I live and work on Waiheke Island in Auckland’s beautiful Hauraki Gulf. My work other than being entirely functional draws inspiration from the natural forms of the landscape, and the shifting colours of the ocean and sky.
